About Us

HomeBridge is a Calgary-based homelessness prevention program for families.

HomeBridge is a program of the Children's Cottage Society and is supported by the Calgary Homeless Foundation as part of its Homelessness Prevention and Diversion Initiative. Since 1986, the Children’s Cottage Society has been dedicated to preventing harm and neglect to children and building strong families through support services, respite programs and crisis nurseries. We are a recognized leader in providing effective programs and services to help ensure Safe Children in Healthy Families.

The grounding principle of the HomeBridge program is that preventing family homelessness is possible when help is available early on.

How HomeBridge Helps

Here are the ways that HomeBridge helps families and people who want to assist them:

HomeBridge Website

  • helps families connect with community resources so that they do not experience a housing crisis in the future.
  • provides information for professionals who want to help families at risk of homelessness.

HomeBridge Housing Coach

  • is available to help families stay housed by connecting them to community resources.
  • can assist families with one-time financial support.
  • works with agencies to assist them to help families at risk of homelessness.

For more information or to contact a Housing Coach, call us at 403-242-8575 ext. 230.

Helping Families Stay Housed: A Toolkit

  • helps community members identify families at risk of being homeless.
  • provides information about how community members can help support families to stay housed.

Helping Families Stay Housed: A Toolkit was developed by the Children's Cottage Society and Aspen Family and Community Network Society.

We welcome the opportunity to provide training for anyone who is interested in supporting Calgary families including social service agencies, community resource centre staff, teachers and other education professionals, social workers and educators in training, community groups, and others.

  • workshops are available to help those working with families to identify and respond to factors that put a family at risk of homelessness.
  • workshops are based on Helping Families Stay Housed: A Toolkit and are custom-designed.
